Description
i did some development/design polishing for vic today since i massively neglect him OTL (AND THE REST OF MY MERCVERSE OCS) so here's a lil doodle sheet
vic's currently working in Mortgate's PR department - he /used/ to be on customer service, very briefly, until they realised that was a terrible idea with his personality, so he's now purely admin/computer stuff
most of the other people in the PR department probably think vic's a bit... well, weird, considering he seems to be so kind and happy and smiley, but has the most venomous tongue and temper ever, pretty much all the time
however, vic was not always like this - in fact, he was once very different. previously, he still worked for mortgate as a lab technician, working with a very specific team of scientists in a testing site away from mortgate's actual headquarters. when this team became aware of some secrets that mortgate would rather keep to themselves, the laboratory was rigged to explode in a terrible 'accident' that was intended to kill everyone inside it. unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and some escaped with their lives - vic being one of those people. however, mortgate discovered that was still alive - and considering him to be a liability, they almost just decided to have him killed... until it was brought up that their remaining science department could do with some test subjects for their newest prototype, and vic became an unwilling guinea pig for their experiments. he was fitted with a prototype mind control chip, which was intended to be in development for the purposes of eventually producing an army of super soldiers - but vic's mind control chip isn't entirely functional yet, the version one existing really as something to observe over a period of time to see where improvements need to be made. so, they gave him a new name, a new identity, and put him to work out of the way in their PR department so that he could be carefully monitored. he lost his right arm from the elbow down in the accident, and is mostly deaf in his right ear, but mortgate has him fitted with a cybernetic prosthetic arm/hand, and he usually wears a hearing aid for work. the mind control chip is intended, for its current purpose, to make him the 'ideal worker'; happy, chipper, obedient and wanting and willing to help, but being currently imperfect, it constantly clashes with his actual personality, giving some...... interesting results. so, currently, he's one of the angriest, saltiest people alive - but it all comes out in the happiest, most cheerful way ever. :l
i also included a pic (I REDREW IT JUST FOR YOU SUNBEAM) of vic with one of his closest friends, raina (who belongs to agendersundancer and also works for mortgate) bcuz i headcanoned while drawing this that when they're bored at work, raina just paints vic's nails in whatever colour she's got at the moment, and he's just like 'sure ok w/e' so vic tends to have really nice nails, all the time
